About Alabama Court Docket

Alabama court records are held at more than one level. A statewide trial search can locate many Circuit and District cases, appellate matters have a separate search portal, and county clerks keep the underlying trial files. Local Probate and municipal courts also maintain separate records. Alabama Court Docket was created to make those routes easier to identify, with plain explanations of the statewide systems and links toward the local offices that hold a case. The right search depends on the court named on the notice, citation, or order.

Why We Built This Site

Alabama's statewide trial portal brings selected Circuit and District case information into one paid search service. It is an index and case-detail view, not the official case file. The Circuit Clerk keeps the county's Circuit docket and also serves as District Court clerk under Ala. Code ยง12-17-160. Probate Court and municipal cases have other local record keepers, and appellate cases use a separate statewide portal. That division can be confusing. A statewide result may help identify a case, while the complete docket, filed papers, and certified copies remain with the clerk or court that holds the record. The county directory links readers to the correct local starting point.

What We Cannot Do

Alabama Court Docket is a privately operated reference service, not an Alabama court, state agency, or county clerk's office. We cannot perform these official functions:

  • Issue certified copies of a docket, order, or filed document
  • Give legal advice about a charge, filing deadline, or case outcome
  • Amend, remove, or seal an entry in an official court record
  • Retrieve a person's official case file from a court
  • Set, reset, or reschedule a hearing or court date
  • Guarantee that local phone numbers, fees, or calendar entries have not changed

Only the court or clerk holding an Alabama case can issue its official docket or certified record. This reference can identify the route, but the record must come from that custodian.

Search Partners

Outside providers power search boxes on some pages and control their own products and prices. If a visitor follows one of those tools to a paid service, Alabama Court Docket may receive a referral fee. That support helps fund free access to the reference material. The provider determines its charges and search results, not this site.
